Miss Bailey What grandparent wouldn't love a beautiful painting of their grand baby? This is my granddaughter Bailey and I loved doing this painting of her. My goal with this piece was to really highlight the eyes and facial expression. When planning the composition I cropped the image to reinforce the face, letting her big eyes and smile shine. The reference photograph was taken in my garage while she was playing with her mother and really captured her delightful expression. The right photograph is so important when painting children. The painting is done in a “loose” style letting the brushstrokes show giving this work a more painterly feel.
