Graphite rendering over watercolor wash on textured art board

  A Christmas ornament on an old wooden table with the room reflecting in the ornament. I guess I could say this was my nod to MC Escher. This was done during a time when I had a strong passion for black and white illustration work using graphite. This is one of a few works where I worked with the idea of introducing color into my images. The color is laid down first with little tonal value then I would draw over the color letting the graphite interact with the watercolor wash achieving a hand tinted look to the piece.
